I teach people that are visually impaired and so have to know most the keyboard shortcuts to the operating system/browser that we use, usually IE/Windows, and more and more Firefox. Its incredible how much more efficient you are using shortcuts with the keyboard. I teach sighted folks too and they are always amazed at how much faster it is.

So very true about cleaning your computer. I work in a pc repair shop and we have people coming in all the time complaining about slowness, random reboots, freezing, etc. The first thing we do is give it a good cleaning (fans, heatsink, boards, etc). It's amazing the amount of dust and pet hair that you find - sometimes to the point of choking fans off completely. More often than not, the simple cleaning can alleviate a large portion of the problems.

The art of the middle click:

Close tabs by middle clicking them
Middle click link to open in a new tab
Middle click in your browser then move mouse up or down to scroll smoothly.

Very simple, but makes browsing so much better.
