What an inspiring article. And every word so true. All my life I have admired those very special individuals who brighten up the faces of everyone they meet. I was a selfish child right through to my twenties. I was probably thirty before I began to realise just how selfish I was. For the last ten years I've been a kind of student again trying to learn how to go about life in the right way. I'm proud of the progress I've made but still make mistakes every day. One thing that I've found that helps me to feel happier is to thank God or Mother Nature or whatever that mysterious other is at the end of every day for all the good things that have happened that day and to apologise for my errors and to ask for the strength to correct my faults. You don't have to be a follower of any particular religion to be able to pray.

I'd have to ditto Miss Attica's comment. Awareness leads to acceptance, acceptance leads to contentment.

Is that you in the photo of the Dalai Lama?

Good post, happy people can be infectious, but sometimes happy people irritate other people. Perhaps its jealousy, who knows.

Great post! I totally agree that AWARENESS is the key to happiness, serenity and peace. Being completely aware of the present moment makes worries about tomorrow or hangups about yesterday disappear! You're left with the person in front of you, or the book, sunset, house to clean or whatever. Simple and effective!
